Koga-Miyata SkyExpension

Hi Yanee,

It could possibly be the case that you have seen scanned pics back in 05/06  Technological progress enables I can do a better job now. I do not know how many bikes I have, but I feel I have a nice overview.

I haven't seen none of them, these are special
I have one KM at the moment, the green one you have too.

The '88 ValleyRunner :) It is a very nice upper-midrange bike. I've had quite a lot enjoyable miles with it.

The blue frame on the previous page is of the second generation Miyata bonded and bolted frames. The 2nd gen was introduced in 1992. Below the last evolution of the 1st generation. It is a special issue to celebrate Greg's 1990 DH World title:

that's truly amazing! any idea of how many were sold? Was it sold as frameset or complete bike? If it was sold as a bike, how was it build?

ps. this would do gooooood in the alu special of BOTM ;)

I think Koga in the u.k. were mostly the race and touring bikes with very little in the way of mtbs.

I normally don't like the joseph approach to colours on a bike but that does work really well.

Rio,

I don't know on how many were sold and whether it was as complete bike or not. It never hit the market were we live. In the 1991 Miyata catalogue this special edition isn't included.

The frame is derived from the 1991 Elevation 5,000.

Elevation 5,000 in Wiki
