Just came across this, for those who've not seen it yet.

It's just looking better and better.

And now that it's not just a rumour that we might be seeing 10 speed gripshifts this year... 8D

Its at least a year since it was first shown, I'm pleased to see retrobike can break old news to retro minded folk

It's not been shown in this version before though Jerky. It looks like they've discarded the idea of alloy sprockets and the small chain device and integrated chainring/guard are news to me.

so what exactly is an "integrated cassette and hub"? Once piece so when you need to change cassetter, you need to chagne the free hub too?

hmmmmm...................

I was wondering that.

Yep thats the idea, it looks like the only way they could make a really small cog (9t) i think.

Im not taken by it unless its really cost effective.

If it aint broke dont fix it.

a 9t would be great for a 1 * 10 set up .

I think Specialized also have a dh hub with a 9t on .

and Sram will have a 10sp grift shift .

Whats wrong with 11t on a single ring 1x9 setup?

Nothing really, the issue most poeple have is 32t front and 11-36t is not low enough bottom gear. So drop the front to a 27t with a 9-36t cassette and you get lower bottom gear but same top.
