Hi...

I've been searching for grey tyres for an older bike and stumbled across some tubeless ones.. Can you use innertubes with these?

I know it would defeat the object of the being tubeless but would it work?

Regards

Rich

You will however find them more fiddly to fit to normal rims - and there is a weight penalty.

Thanks fellas.. I can live with the extra weight. Like i say i've seen some online but not in the flesh so to speak so i can't imagine what they look like inside... I'm thinking of putting them on Sun M14a's which are really narrow, would that make them impossible to fit?

Not tried on a really narrow rim. But proper UST rims have a slot for the tyres to pop into pre-inflation. On some rims you will have a fight on your hands. I've fitted UST Racing Ralphs to Mavic 317s as a temporary measure before not - but they are a lot harder work to fit than normal folding tyres. And even more hassle to get off again.

If you can get them to fit - then you might aswell fit tubeless strips while you're at it and run them with all the advantages of tubeless.
