Agree. Sweet. remember that year very well & Evens cycles in Kingston. And yet i never did buy one :?

I had the exact bike back, color and size in college. Mine had a Advocet <sp> Gel seat. I'll have to dig up a picture from back in the day......

Looks great!

Lovely job, good to see a Specialized with Ground Controls from back then.

Just needs some modern mud now!

Lovely work - I had the same model in 88, it was my first MTB...

Still got some of the original parts too.

good work man. looks great.
I am looking to repaint this exact model myself.

I have a couple questions of you don't mind.

What kind of paint did you use? Could you post the colors used?
Thanks.

Hey kaverorzi, the white is just plain white, nothing special. The blue is a custom mix I came up with to be similar to the original but made brighter and fresher. As to the type of paint, I actually paint cars for a living so its proper automotive paint (2 pack).

Got a couple of nice deore mt60 mechs and deore pedals spare if you were thinking of going back to original spec

nice build!

Got the decals thrusday and finished building it up on the weekend.
...

From which source did you get the decals, maybe Gil?! I´m asking since two days ago i bought the very same model - RockHopper ´88 - in 21.5" size with UV-bleached decals which have most likely to be replaced.
