They are actually Avid Tri-Aligns. I have Graftons on a couple of other bikes, so I thought something different would be good. The Avids are great brakes. Not as temperamental as Graftons.

Is the 2" mark on your post enough to get it beyond the bottom of the top tube? It would be a real shame to crack it.

I checked it yesterday and I feel confident that it is properly inserted.

Thanks man. I am actually going to take some of the 3DV off and replace it with black XT. I have 3 holy grails and this is one of them. I have two of those grails. Still looking for the third. My son will get this bike. :)
