The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff chat and sales

I just went for a big sexy open reel deck. Wanted a B77 but was out of my reach, so settled for an Akai GX-630 that I picked up in a junk shop in St Helens for a princely sum of £50 (still a lot for a teenager!) which peshed all over the Denon cassette deck I owned despite being much older!

Here's one on eBay - a snip at $600! Wish I'd kept mine...

From memory (so could be wildly inaccurate!), these are almost a short circuit load on amplifiers so you need huuuuge amplifiers with massive current to get them going.

So I was told...

Correct. These would be amp killers. I had their cheapest speaker and they worked excellent in my small room with mono blocks..

But one or more these would be perfect

I had 3x Krell FPB350M... £13,995 each! the cnc was so sharp, it cut my jeans when packing them.

Inflation. Fancied buying a pair of my last mono power amps. Thought they had gone bust :(

But still in business :D

Back in 1989 they cost me £750 even back then that wasn't hyper expensive. 60 watts through 8 ohms 120 through 4 ohms perfect for my set up.

They are the red blocks in the picture. Albarry M608 (the sliver boxes & record deck were the GF back then)

But tonight told what they sell for now ...........
