My goodness yes. I fitted some newly acquired Avid Ultimate Levers to my ride today, but left the XRT V's on as my bikes all dirty.
Now I have had Ultimates and XTR plenty of times before and wasn't expecting a big difference, but this was the first time I have done simply nothing but replace the levers. The braking has been transformed from what was very good to sublime.
Not only is the braking much more powerful but the feel is better too. (aided of course by the modulation adjustability on the Avids). Much more comfortable too.
Now I remember why I liked these levers so much
