Top job, you must be chuffed to bits :0)

Cheers for sharing your journey

thanks for all the positive comments, this bike is stunning.
i love the colours, and the originality of it.
will be giving me many years of joy.
and a big thanks for all the advice.
i hope to get out on some retro rides this year.

Great work and a stunning looking bike.

I've moved your thread over to Readers Bikes now it's all finished.

Well done.

Superb work :D
I'll bet it cost a pretty penny to find all the parts
Shhh...mustn't talk about such things

tbh i havent really sat down and worked out how much was spent, but with a build like this the cost is secondary to the acheiving period correctness. i still can't stop looking at her.
my next goal is a large dolomite attitude.

been a few days now and i've got to say i love riding this bike.
a real experience you just dont get from modern metal.
one thing i find hard to understand, is the number of bikes that are restored and never ridden. to me a bike is to be ridden.
it breaks my heart seeing some truly stunning builds that are destined for a life of never being ridden.
but this one is definitely for riding and will be for many years to come.
i'm now adapting to not spending my money on ebay or retro bike.

i went for a ride at rivington on saturday, with a few retro riders, a great bunch of lads, any way it was a good test for the bike, the verdict:
really enjoyed the ride, the bike is so light and nimble, but very unforgiving, felt every single bump. the pedals are a pain in the bum, so i am changing to spd's. this bike is really for easy terrain, i couldnt use it every week on the rough stuff. but it will be getting out on some retro rides this year, i'll be taking it to the lakes in feb.
but i have the bike of my dreams and love her.
here are some photo's to prove this will be ridden.
