Sorry for the blunt title.

I want to sell my 1988 18inch Specialized Rockhopper Comp. I've had it a year and it's in good working condition. I just don't use it. It's currently sat gathering dust and that seems a bit of a shame.

XT Thumbies, XT Rear Mech, Biopace chainrings. I haven't a bloody clue how much it's worth and I'd rather not sell on eBay.

Can anyone give me a guide please?

Read those may be prone to the paint flaking so a buyer might be respraying. Unfortunately it's tough to get much more than $300 for an old bike that isn't in excellent condition.

That's a nice model to own though. Is that considered a Ned Overend replica? (OP or RBers)

Probably best to break it up and sell it. The frame is a sure sale in almost any condition and the blue ano parts are an easy sale if they are decent. XT sells as well.

I'm just off to rescue 2 x 1989 Emmelle Dolomites from my Dads shed before he sends them to the tip! I haven't clapped eyes on these for about 15 years so I'm quite apprehensive. I can remember LX or XT thumbies and otherwise decent kit.

A couple of lads I knew had these before upgrading to Alpinestars. Cost about £350 from memory and I think had Mountain LX mostly with Deore thumbies :? Very similar spec to my 89 Tufftrax I seem to remember.

As always, more money if you split them. I don't think the full bikes would make more then about £30/40 if you're lucky.

I shouldn't really have posted that in this thread. I have managed to rescue some bits and bobs. 1 x exage trail biopace chainset and rings. 1 x exage biopace chainset and rings, 1 x mountain lx thumbies and 2 x pairs slr brakes. I gave the rest of the kit to my mate for his spares box. Frames are getting powdercoated and SS'd :)
