Carlton sumat-or-other

Hi everyone my name is Chris. I'm fresh here on retrobike and I'm loving some of the stuff I've seen.

I have my own little project going on right now with my Dad's old Carlton. I have no idea what the model is, but hopefully from the pictures someone on here might have an idea as to what it is.

I've made two albums in Facebook, I'm not sure if you will be able to see them. If not then I'll gets the pics up on Flickr.

I've been wanting to keep all the parts original, but some of the parts have seen better days and I'm considering trying to make it up with Shimano 600 group stuff. What makes that easier is I know my Dad didn't buy this new, so the bike was built up by his mate out of odds and ends. Therefore I wouldn't feel too bad about scrapping some of the parts I have, as long as I keep it period.

I've changed privacy settings so hopefully they should work. If not I'm still uploading to flickr as we speak.

Can i ask, what colour is that, it looks pretty close to the original?

Its RAL 5018. It looks a lot better in real life than it does on lots of RAL charts I've seen. I'm pretty happy with the powder coat job. Now the beast has just got to be decaled, laquared and then built up with either serviced original bits or some NOS parts of my choice, still don't know what to do!!!
