Just curious, what's the thing that looks to be brazed onto the left fork blade ?

think it's to mount a light or dynamo,

guess the bike used to be more like a 'randonneur'-type of bike

Ah! just twigged..........the bike was meant to be ridden on the "wrong side of the road" :)

I was expecting the light to be attached to the right fork LOL

yes, flemish brand,

but doesnt exist anymore..
used to be a very famous racing team back in the days..

sold this one yesterday..
 
Still going today but as a British Brand (!) and their website has loads of excellent historical video clips about them. Well worth a trawl through.

the handle bar of this bike is inscripted with freddy maertens worldchampion victory of 1976... would fitted yours pretty well I guess
