Found this in a box full of parts in my basement, it's very light, got sealed bearings, a twisted spindle and a tool pattern I've never seen before. It's 125mm long and is a 73mm width. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Fantastic! Thanks, now all I need is to find someone near me with a tool for it.

Just make sure you've tapped and cleaned the threads in the shell and then use a standard park peg spanner on the BB - is should glide in not need forcing, it's not a Shimano!

I actually just found Bruce Boone of Boone Bikes (who is now making custom Ti rings) and emailed him. In less than an hour I've gotten an answer and he said:
"I had 2 versions; one with 6 holes and another with a series of holes all the way around a scooped out center area. The first used a 2 pin spanner wrench and the second used a Shimano bottom bracket tool. I didn't make the tools. They were pretty standard tools at the time."
So off to the toolbox I go. This internet thing keeps amazing me.
