Hi, one of favourite long distance rides, and also helpfully your serial number seems confirms my Mistral as 1972/3.
Terry

Mistral.

One of my favourites...I have a 1978 edition owned from new.

Have a soft spot for Holdsworths.

Roadking.

Holdsworth

Thanks for the replies.
I'm looking forward to spring, then i can also experience the ride qualities.
This was purchased out of the blue over the weekend,i could not beleive my luck when i saw it,truly is in excellent original condition.
This is one of the, possibly the best finds i have ever made, epecially what i paid for it.But will not reveal the price.
Do you think i should enter it for the B.O.T.M for December?

I've been trying to think of a "Is the pope a Catholic?" line, but can't come up with one that demonstrates what an absolute certainty my voting for this in rBOTM is. It's a 100%, certified beauty. You need to stick it on Classic Lightweights too... :D

Takes me back to my youth........ :)

Back in those days chrome was expensive and Holdsworth along with other manufacturers dropped it from their frames :)

Which is what sort of set Carleton apart as they saw themselves as above holdsworth / raleigh and kept chrome for a few quid extra :D
