breezer at evans cycles for 2012

This isnt a real surprise to me to be honest, it made sense really.

Distribution rights for the brand were purchased by Advanced Sports Inc in 1998. ASI continues to market and distribute Fuji Bicycles, Breezer Bikes, Kestrel Bicycles and SE Bikes.

Im not a great fan of Evans cycles TBH, they maybe ok as a mail order specialist, but as a retailer, they are a large chain that lack a lot, especially with the uneducated kids they seem to employ for there shop floors of late.
With them being the uk retailer for fuji, it stood to reason that Breezer would be next on there list...!!!

At least the brand has some representation here in the u.k at last, lets hope Evans as a retailer do the job properly, and keep actual stock on shop floors, if there bristol based store is anything to go by, i will hold my breath.

from the point of view of ASI, i suppose its a numbers game, lets hope that its promoted properly and given the sales push it needs and not an after thought that leads to stock sticking, and then being discounted and the brand de-valued.

As a Fan, i wanna see them on the trails, especially as they seem to have got the price of the new 29er lightning pro spot on, for the uk market.

i just hope there is a way for this brand to be displayed in the independant stores too, and not just the impersonal giant we call Evans.

I don't care at all for evans, all i know is that when the sales markdowns begin I should be able to get a breezer lightning team new for around a £1000 without having to ship it from the U.S.

Thats a fair point, end of season bargains, suit us all. But not at the expense of a quality brand name being de-valued, due to the shop floor staff struggling to sell them because they dont know what they are doing with it.

from where im sat, the brand name, has major history, and for 2012 has come up with a quality product lineup, that is modern, but still has roots, an offering of both 26 and 29ers, the colours this year have finally been sorted too, no oddball colours like this years range, which should help find new homes at all price points.

I wish them the best of luck, i really do, i have wanted to see breezer in the u.k for a long time, i just hope Evans are the retailer to do it.

feast you eyes on this little lot......

as long as Joe Breeze still has a hand in the design process, the bikes will still be a quality product even if it is being sold through evans.

I did notice recently when attempting to buy an ex display thunder comp, that the spec between the 2010 model and the 2011 model had downgraded considerably. probably repositioning of the models but a little disheartening..

I personally like the original paint scheme which they used on the 2010 models, although the new paint is ok and a big improvement on last year.

FWIW.......with the clout the Evans has, And the History the brand "BREEZER" already has, lets hope this retail giant puts it full force behind the brand here in the uk and markets the product the way it deserves, after all the man in the picture below still gives it his all, why shouldnt Evans....?

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS BRAND NOT BEING A HUGE SUCCESS HERE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.....
