this is my ex-hilts 1994 Kona AA. purple, isnt it.

i am in the middle of polishing up the fork lowers - one side is done, the other is not. which could be which eh?

i havent tried servicing yet - they seem oretty smooth as is.

just wanted to seperate them to make the polishing process easier.
 
Stem was put in the post 1st class today Kier..

looking good BTW, always one of my favourite looking Konas, if I could have justified keepig it I would have.

Shifters: STX
Front Derailleur: NOS STX
Rear Derailleur: STX-RC
Cassette: LX 12-28
Chain: whichever decent one is on offer at CRC
Cranks: M550 LX
Chainrings: Shimano 48t, sugino 40t.
Bottom Bracket: my eternal UN71
Pedals: Shimano 858's - seem to work fine with regular cleats
Quick Releases: Tranz-X allen, titanium effect
Rims: Alesa 6021 (no, i'd never heard of them either, but they're black and eyeletted)
Hubs: M550 LX
Tyres: Tioga City Slickers 1.5
Saddle: Selle Italia
Seatpost: Kona Race Light
Weight dont know yet, but feels pretty light.
 
updated - nearly there. chain, brakes, cables, grips and i reckon i'm done. seat will be lowered for riding :p

Ah, that'll be the AA that I swapped with Hilts for the Explosif that's now my daily road hack (weather permitting of course, I am a southerner!)...

Good to see she's being loved! :)
 
it'll probably go onward again towards the end of the year.... i'll make sure i keep it in the retrobike family!


it's going to be my "fitness" bike - i am building towards an august half marathon
