got some 03 - 07 sid race's with the pure delite damping system, they are giving me about 20-30mm travel as opposed to the 80 your supposed to get out of them. they dont feel supple anymore and also when you are descending fast on rocky surfaces it feels as if the headset is loose - this is something to do with the damper system as far as i know as the headset is 2 months old and fitted properly!!

i have serviced my fox shock and talas forks before but in this case would it be a better bet sending them to tftuned or somewhere as you seem to need some specialist tools etc if the bushings have gone!

opinions please?!

did service my SID race & team from arround 2005 last year and it was not a big deal to service them anyhow. Only you have to make yourself some special tool to remove the the damper unit from the stanchions, but you dont need to remove the airdamper if still fine and holding air. the pure delite unit is removeable without any special tools.

very helpfull, I found a manual which you can download from the internet. bushing removing also involves special tools - the internet is also you friend as both the bushings and the tool are still available.

changing the oil in the pure delite damper and giving the interior a good clean should help returning your fork to full travel. the main weakness of the SIDs are the stanchions seals, which when not regulary changend, helped to let water ran in between the stanchions and the casing, causing the stanchions to corrode and in the end the fork did not compress any longer, due to corrosion.

hope yours is OK, so its vital to change to seals regulary !

got a service kit sorted, gonna have a crack at them myself!

anyone got a link to a decent service guide??

cheers
