Ii'm really far for being a specialist of Orange, but if your bike is titanium made, it would be sandvik weld

in my early pre-bike trade days i just assumed they were made in the UK with the other frames that Orange made. but at that point i knew nothing about the difficulties of welding titanium or any other metal for that matter but having a chat with one of the longer serving members of the Orange production team told me they were taiwan made, i was surprised myself.

from what i understand Orange for some of their frames use the Kinesis factory (for the aluminium hardtails) and for steel i think they use the same factory as the charge bikes, which also have some similarities with the Genesis frames, the suggestion was that they had been using this steel factory since the early days and we know they work with titanium because they do the charge Ti frames, so it sort of confirms the statement from my friend at Orange.

also, when you compare a Vit T2 (or the original Vit T) the finish is so different to anything from america, the US stuff had a higher polished finish mostly where as taiwan tended to be matt grey in finish.

Mine, Pro 825, Tange Ultimate Superlight.

Restored frame built with Switchblades, m900, Ringle, Hope, X-lite, Control Tech, Sun, Answer, Ritchey and Paul Components.

WTF... Why not make it 3? My Pro-Elite.

Will add more up to date photo shortly as it's all M950 and with King headset/Control Tech bars & bar ends now and I don't have any recent pics.

My 1993 KHS Montana Pro in near catalogue spec (bar tyres, forks and chainrings) with a few bits of NOS

Pic is a little out of date, as I now have the correct wheelset and the correct length stem

I would assume so judging by John's original post

Which to me means that if the frame was manufactured in Taiwan it's eligable

Most bikes here are built in our own sheds anyway, or at least re-built.
