Applause for your unashamed eccentricity :D

Up here in MacRetroland i have today proposed a build your own Klunker and ride it down a hill. A klunker must not be a purpose built mtb but a road oriented bike beefed up for off road use.
You sir seem a perfect candidate competitor for our madness

im looking round for a road bike frame at mo so i can build a klunker
and will keep you posted

By the way excuse my old ignorance but are Suntour XC or X-1 componentry...... gears? like i said im not clued up on technical names etc,if it needs fixing it gets what i can blag or borrow from spares bikes

Suntour XC and X-1 are groupsets, that is groups of bike components in a series which would include front and rear deralier gear mechs, thumbshifter, brake levers, brakes, chainset, hubs etc.
From the Shimano stable you have groupsets like LX, STX-RC, XT,XTR,Acera-X, Alivio, Altus etc

Keep an eye out in MacRetro's MacKlunker thread for our crazy builds. Mine will be based on a Raleigh Twenty shopper bike

oh right ,thanks for that,i have suntor bl on my carlton

maybe use this as a klunker?
