I can think of a couple of ideal places to run this, unfortunately they're both in god's country of Royal Deeside: the lower part of The Fungle by Aboyne would be perfect (and also one of the classic MTB routes of Scotland), or there's a radio mast descent just outside Ballatar on fireroads which would also be great.
Above Innerleithen - Scotlands first downhill race location? 1991 I think. (first I am aware of and that's what counts )
Pretty sure it was this... Kernie Law down to the B709 http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=74147
DaveDH could you confirm? the large square ruin is the bit I remember and the general flow down on that side of the hill.
Righto, I propose some time in Spring for this, it gives time for those interested to build a klunker creation and to decide on a venue.
Put your builds in here and any other relevant stuff.
I'll come up with prizes
Any Englandshire or elewhere types interested feel free to join in.
Remember the frame must not originate as a mtb/atb/hybrid. No disc brakes/V-brakes/Maguras or suspension other than fat tyres and undamped springs. All components new or old must reflect pre mtb technology
