Had further thoughts on this on my ride home in the dark.........
What about combine with a night ride.
Get to GT a couple of hours before dark and push klunkers to the top of spooky wood. Then either as a time trial or just mass descent go down spooky to the timber track, go along that and past the foot of the spooky climb then onto Blue Velvet then Berm Baby Berm then across the carpark and down the road to the Squirrel carpark. Downhill most of the way and not beyond the capabilities of a rubbish braked road derived klunker. Do it as one continuous non stop run like the Repack itself.
By then darkness will have fallen and you can put your klunkers away and drag out your proper nightride mtb's. Plus night ride cowards like me can bail and head home.

Already did GT and Inners on my Klunker and reconed i was lucky to have escaped serious injury/death 
Will get my Klunker back together but will probably be confined to the streets.

Reminds me of my old Raleigh Hustler racer. Single speed , straight bars and skinny road tyres. Used for off road racing on a wee hillside track we had. It bit the dust when I landed after a jump and the front wheel collapsed spearing my thigh with the spokes. I binned the bike and my dad bought me a nice Sun Snipe !

This could be a good bit of daft fun to help us deal with winter.
Remember we're not chucking ourselves down a tough modern mtb course, more of a repack style unsurfaced road and thus our efforts shouldn't snap beneath us unless our choices of components are really bad
In keeping with the Klunker cup organised by Charlie the Bike Monger, BMX's are allowed because although they are tough off road racers they do have rather wee wheels unless cruiser class. Cruiser class are also seen at repack so are also allowed
ZZ you will look daft on a BMX, much like me on a 26er
