i think you frame is 1999/2000

this is based around
1/ the old style front end.
2/ the one piece linkage.
3/ and the horizontal back end, looks on the photo's like no "V" Brake mounts?

marky mark

no there are no v mounts at all and it has that big chunk of 10mm ish plate under the head tube. i'd love to know exactly what i have on my hands.

i have never seen one with the 10mm chunk under the headtube...??
I have owned 3 M1's so far...
E-mail intense with the frame number and they might be able to tell you what year..??

if you look closely you can see it in the pics. it runs back to just before the down tube comes out of the frame. i'll see if i have any pics of it. it might be a repair? but it looks right like it should be there. im starting to think its a repair to be honest but a good one.

it might be a home-made frame saver to stop the forks hitting the frame ? my san andreas has a bolt on one

it looks like some sort of reinforcement. really well welded in. I have been out to the shed and taken pics. I'm ashamed at how dusty it was
like you said i have never seen it on any other m1 :?

i hope its not a home made repair as it follows all the main weld lines. i doubt if anyone welded it they re-temperd the frame thus leaving the head tube ali soft as cheese :?
