Ooh, can I have one please?! I was the tall bloke on the slightly-too-small Bontrager.

It was a very enjoyable ride and it was great to see all the retro machines being ragged round the old and new trails. No garage queens there 8)

While we were pootling around the Ashton Court & Leigh Woods trails it was all kicking off elsewhere - The BBC news reports those damn car park-closing Kiters failed in their World record attempt... *smirk*

Also, Danny Hart won the WC DH! :D

My handlebar mounted camera took 500+ pictures throughout the day (and some video!) but it will take me a while to sort out some good ones and re size them etc. Will try and do it this week. I tried mounting it rear facing but I think that because my bike was quite large and therefore the seatpost quite short it was always getting knocked while riding and it ended up taking pics of trees.

Anyway, flicking through them, this one caught my eye!

Hello! Cheesy here - I turned up at the end of the ride yesterday, but I don't have a retro bike anymore so I was gate crashing

Nice to meet you all!

Looks like a nice ride and a good- sized group. I've never had the opportunity to ride w/ that many people :(

Anyone fancy another go? Now my trail pixie mojo's working again I can soon have an unrepeated 2-3 hour ride in Leigh Woods again.

Much of my youth was spent building trails there. It's compact but perfect for technical riding. The fact that it's minutes from the city centre is a huge bonus.

Seeing the Wiki picture of one of the quarries in Leigh Woods has jogged my memory - the 2 Wheeled Drive-in Cinema is on again this year during the Bristol Bike Festival, after last years superb outdoor showing of Point Break (with ex-President masks) this year it's going to be The Lost Boys, and then The Wicker Man with some added extras: http://whatshotinbristol.com/2011/08/21 ... mber-2011/

There's nothing like sitting in an abandoned quarry in the woods watching a retro film drinking cider and eating popcorn.
