Anyone know where I can get a MR2231-2RS or compatible bearings from, that's not going to cost a fortune shipping from the US (that just seems barmy to me)

It's for a RaceFace Signature Series ISIS bottom bracket.

oh and if anyone has a bottom bracket they don't want and don't mind giving me the 'silver spacers' as the one I have has had one cut down :(.

looked around, left it last time and though I'd better rebuild it so I can use it.

Also any advice on servicing them and actually changing the bearings.

I'd just try your local bearing supplier. They will be about a quarter of a bike bits price.

I would, but even the large online bearing suppliers do not do a 22/31/7mm double row bearing :(
Even ebay finds nothing (apart from a few Enduro ones from the US)

I could not find the item you are looking for so you search or contact them.

That's the first of the larger well known online bearing supplier I tried. Nope not got them. They seem to be a specialist and not common item. As far as I know FSA and RaceFace and hopefully other ISIS people might have used them. Seems only Enduro supply them :s
No wonder ISIS didn't stay around long.

Hi there,
I got a set of bearings from BETD to re-build an FSA Platinum Pro Ti ISIS.

http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/contactus.asp

I phoned them as they were not listed on their site.

I just took some pics - I assume these are the ones that I removed.

Any code on the black seals?

I've just grabbed the bottom bracket, now these are an odd build...
It's a RaceFace Signature Ti and uses double row angular contact bearings, well it says so on the sleeve.
Everything I had read says it's the MR2231 bearings @7mm wide

But I've just noticed this has 3804 2RS MAX RF.
I know they are not the original bearings and from the specs the ID is 0.5mm narrower and the width is like you first bearing.

I got it of ebay and it had been rebuilt and re-spaced for some single speed purpose (one of the external silver spacers has been cut down and also placed on the inside :s)

Both bearings are listed on Enduro's website the 'RF' part seems important.

Once I decide I'll give Betd a message.

ISIS is all new to me, just thought I'd loose some weight getting Ti, but with what looks like custom bearings, they aint cheap :(

Hi there,
Sadly there is no code on the seals.

I have dug out an invoice from BETD, which may be for the bearings that I bought from them to replace the ones in the pictures above. Blimey, my memory now!!

I'm currently struggling to read the hand written code on their invoice. It looks like I bought 3 bearings 7mm wide, and used 2 of them on the drive side to replace the 14mm seen in the picture above.

Possibly MC 21531

Your code for 3804 2RS MAX RF is on this page, 7th from the bottom.

I am off out for a ride now, but I will delve deeper for you when I get back later and I'm sure I'll dig up something - goodness knows how many times you've help me in the past with your numerous posts!

Chat later.

The code will be MR 21531 (21.5 x31 x 7)

I've found some bearings MR2231 (ukbikestore) but at £20 each I'll leave be given I probably need some other parts it's just not worth it. I'll see what I can bodge up with the current 3804's in there as even the 3804's are a small fortune for some bearings
As they are RF specific and the Signature series instructions say they might have a grease port :).
Have to try get them out of the cups and off the axle at some point .

been fun looking though... makes me want to find a cheap fix all the more though
