I've got some Hollowtech 1 XT cranks that i want to run on my RM.
I've run them on this bike before and they worked great with an M960 top pull top swing front mech and a 113mm BB(which i've confirmed is the right length).
But i've refitted them now ,as before, and with the 113mm BB i can't get onto the granny ring despite much fiddleing :?
So i thought i'd try a longer BB as i had one to hand(118mm), but then i couldn't get the big ring :? :?
I think possibly the mech is the problem as with the 113mm BB it appears to be restricted by the seattube before it can move the chain over to the granny ring.
So, is a bottom swing mech the answer? or am i just an incompetent bike mechanic?
