Hello just thinking of buying a set of Dmr pedals and wondered the differences as some say magnesium and ti shaft etc ????

Thanks Dave

apart from the materials as mentioned, V8's use conventional cone and ball bearings.... v12 use a ceramic 1peice catridge as far as i know.

the end cap on a v8 jsut opens up to the cone, while on a v12, tou can take the pedal off the shaft

My V8's have grease ports and are really good. V12 are magnesium and have sealed bearings.

Never had a problem with mine, always top them up with Pace grease from a Pace grease gun.....(and no, that's not advertising!!!)

:)

used to be better bearings in the v12's
but both work really well as far as i'm concerned
buy with confidence

Yep
Unless your a real weight weenie or money bags
V8's will do nicely

V12' can get expensive with the ti axle and that
Dont the v12's use one side cartridge and the other cup and cone?

Not all V12 are magnesium. Mag is available at a higher price and Ti axles are too.

You are paying for the better bearings. Both sides are cartridge IIRC.

v12's have a cartridge at one end and a bush at the crank end. bush's wear out and are v difficult to replace. mine lasted about 4 years though. i use v8's now as the grease port is awesome, just pump it with a gun and all the old stuff comes out the end cap.
