This just in from Matthias about the 2011 KLEIN meets KLEIN event (Kleintreffen). Looks to have been a great event in previous years, check their website for more details.

Dear friends of Retrobike.co.uk

For the fith time in a row, we are organizing our annual "KLEIN meets KLEIN" event in Germany, bringing together friends, owners and fans of one of the biggest brands in mountain bike history.

The event is being held the first weekend of July, 2nd to 4th of July 2011 in Eckolstaedt (close to Weimar, Eastern Germany).

The "KLEINfreunde Weimar" are our hosts and you can get some impression of their passion for the brand on their website (sorry, german only): http://www.kleinfreundeweimar.com/

We will have a great mix of come-together, rides, exhibition and BBQ over the weekend, which will look as follows:

Friday, 2nd of July

from 4.00 p.m. on: arrival to Eckolstaedt (ZIP: 99510)
setting up the bikes for the exhibition on Saturday
from 6.00 / 7.00 p.m. on: BBQ and come together
later the evening: transfer to Weimar (next biggest city, lots of hotels / hostels / etc.)

Saturday, 3rd of July

from 9.00 a.m. on: Setup of exhibition (cont.) / sell and swap (always great surprises!)
11.00 a.m. Exhibition and choice of "bike of the event" (categories tbd.)
Lunch break (will be organized ad hoc, locally)
2.00 p.m.: Ride around Eckolstaedt to Niedertreba's Mill, "Village on the sea", great place for coffee and drinks, overall ride is about 25 kilometers, so possible for everyone $;-)
5.00 p.m. End of ride at Eckolstaedt (possibilty for taking a shower at the exhibition place)
7.00 p.m. End of event in Eckolstaedt, transfer to Weimar
8.00 p.m. Bar and Restaurant, get together in Weimar

Sunday, 4th of July

from 9.30 a.m. on: tear down of exhibition area (if not already happened on Saturday) in Eckolstaedt
after that, for those who still feel like going for it: tour around Weimar, see some of the great sites there

And now the best part of it all: The event is FREE of charge, organized by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, you only pay for your travel and accomodation.

And if you need support to organize this, we will be VERY happy to help you!

In the past years, we always had 20+ participants, 40+ bikes and tons of stories to tell. You will be surprised, how many bikes from the forum you will recognize and what the people behind the pictures can speak about.

The official site for the event is german only (again my apologies): www.kleintreffen.de, but we are all english speaking and already had several international participants (Switzerland / Italy) in the past.

To give you some more impressions about former events, just have a look at my flickr album from the past years:

Feel like joining us and having a great time in Germany in the summer time.

Just drop me an e-mail: information@kleintreffen.de (Matthias Lorz, organizer of the event since 2007 on) or give me a ring on my mobile: +49 172 230 5670

All the team from Klein meets Klein 2011 is looking forward to have you as our guests!

oooooohhhh i have to make tough decisions now, which klein do i take.

Road, Mountain, Which colour, which groupset, do i take original or respray, do i take rigid or suspension. We have not even got to the clothes yet, and they thought they thought they had decisions for the royal wedding.

Let me pull Jack from the cupboard and have a ponder.

Which bike / color to chose $,-)

Hi everyone,

if you'd like to know, which bike / color is already registered for the July event, just have a look a the participants list:

http://www.kleintreffen.de/pages/teilnehmer-11.php

By clicking on the name, you can see who will bring which bike and color.

Have a great weekend, looking forward meeting many from the retrobike forum in Weimar.

Matthias

i've mentioned this before but we should really organise a UK Klein meet, theres enough owners/fans on the forum for it.

i do not need all this drama. A UK meet would not work due to the fact the uk are a funny bunch and say they will but wont.

we will stick to europe and have a laugh at the meet in germany. and have you got a m900 rear mech i know you have..

thanks andy to the sneaker

:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

Matthias has kindly sent over some links to the photos from the Klein Meets Klein event.
