wow
thats pretty bad
did that snap part way through the weld?

hope you werent riding it at the time??

and what do you mean they painted it, after they fixed/replaced it?

It happened just riding normally on a track through a plougghed field.
Thought the wheel had just come out at first. Didn't hear it snap or anything.
The Shop I bought it from 'Stif in Harrogate' sorted everything out for me.
Orange admitted it was a manufactuing fault and offered me a new rear swing arm. They said a white one wouldn't match the front half of the frame, so I had a choice of any colour they do.
I went for Plasma Blue.
It took about a month to get it back, but I'm more than happy with the service I got.
There looks like there's more weld on it now aswell.
Guess I was just unluky as The bike shop said they'd never seen this happen before and I can't find anything on the web either.

yeah thats lucky
i guess thats one of the reasons why its worth investing a bit more in a decent company

i asked if it snapped through the weld as that would suggest a manufacture fault
very strange to say the least though, normally frames will go at the edge of the weld as the weld is stronger than the parent metals it joins
maybe there was air in the weld or some other contaminant

very very good service of them
fairly long turn around but i wouldnt be complaing either! :D
get some new pics up :D

no, sa frame snapping is very unlucky. :?

yes, join would snap between the beat and the parent metal as you say - looks like that is the case.

but top marks to Orange!!
