That's a thought, funny you mention the M2 also that happened to the bike i've recently purchased but a 2000 model in red too.
As much as i admire JMC's Stumpy i would prefer a modern version; Sram setup, Rock Shox Judy Avid V Brakes etc... But my Stumpy has already got some decent spec on it. :|
