G'day.. ;)

Righto, got myself a job in the City Of London last week [been at the desk since Wednesday] and managed to get myself invited to the Xmas Office Drinks.. In Prague

Leaving Thursday morning and staying for two days.. Best part is the daytime is freeplay, we just have to meet in the Hotel Bar around 6/7pm for the evening's festivities.. So..

Anyone been to Prague? Suggest where to go? What to see etc.?

just remember, those nice freindly girls at the hotel bar are likely to ask you for payment later.

Fantastic place. Was expecting the streets to be full of british stag parties and wall to wall porno. Not a sign of it, ladies of relaxed virtue are there but you need to find them!! Subway is spot on, best of all, delicious Budvar/Staropramen 30p a pint! Wasted! Food also well cheap look down the smaller streets for great eats, live like a king but spend like a tramp. Bitterly cold though.

Enjoy Jim

went there in febuary for a stag do, from what i can remember it was ace. fired some guns and generally had a great time, even found a bike shop with some retro bits in the window.

never got used to the traffic lights ticking fast and slow so you know when to cross.,

enjoy :D

Matt, you will love it :D I went in july on a stag do, and like kase fired
some guns, awesome. Watch out for people offering " midget sex" tho

I guess I'd have to constantly look down to do that? :p

Cheers for the comments guys, aside from the 5.30am check in I cannot wait.. Looks like clear skies there, sunshine always helps enjoy a place, and yeah it's gonna be cold so I'd better buy a jumper

Does anyone remember/know what the cool/historic/swanky areas/districts are?

The castle area is pretty cool and historic. Worth paying for a guided tour.

The old town square has a very interesting clock with good animatronics on the hour.

Wenceslas Square is long and narrow rather than a square and is where all the demonstrations in the 60s and during the 1989 fall of communism happened.

Awesome, love that Historic stuff.. Will get me a book on the city I rekkon this lunch and check it out..

Someone here said Mission Impossible [first movie] was filmed there?

The is a lot to see, Lots of old buildings the big castle an the watch, but also a lot of girls and places to drink a beer. And cheap. :)
It's a nice city. Espcially when it's cold, then the city looks really authentic, like in Mission Impossible.

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities I've been to.

See the astronomical clock on the main square, make sure you're there for a chime. It's worth hanging around for. The beer. The castle over the river is pretty good. The beer. There's a lot of Jewish heritage with a Jewish museum and cemetery which is pretty interesting with lots of history on what was a thriving community until the 1930/40s, plus a lot of very harrowing stuff about that time and why it stopped being a thriving community . The beer. Kafka stuff (statues, buildings he frequented, that sort of thing). The beer. Just wandering around is worth a few hours in its own right because there are some amazing buildings and statues to see. Oh, and if that wears you out, there are no shortage of cosy bars which serve arguably the best beer in the world.
