Orange sub five

Looks like the same SID air can as on my old Patriot. The pedal bob used to do my nut when I was just sat in the saddle spinning - great when you were flat out through roots tho.

Thanks xiphon, your patriot looks great is it the xc version?The J3 forks are very basic coil forks but they will do the trick untill I can find a nice set of air ones.

jskdog - let me know when you've built up your Patriot frame, be interesting to see what it's like - I've got a 2000 Patriot LT (18") as my daily commuter/weekend thrasher bike...

I like the look of that with flt bars and clip pedals, I love the frame design on these older orange bikes. Not sure if I ever will get it done I bought the frame on ebay to repair, there was a horrible plate welded on the shock mounts and a small crack in the swing arm. I fixed it up but the frame is a bit too small really but dont think its worth selling as its had some weding done to it.

Nice Sub 5!! A friend rides a 2003 grey Sub 5 and i just built up a 2003 Sub 3! and absolutely love it!!!! My first full sus and it's superb! :D

Thats a very nice sub 3, is the only difference the with the sub five the down tube?Iv always loved orange bikes and really chuffed with this one its the first time I'll be keping a bike!Im usually on the look out for something but can honestly say this bike does everything!

Yip totally agree! They do ride bloody nice. Had a great run on Sun there in the Trossachs and the downhill at the end was immense fun, so smooth on a full sus. So I'm totally converted now! Think I'll be keeping my Sub 3 for a long time to come.
 
Your Sub3 looks remarkably similar the MrXC - does anyone know what Orange did differently between them?

After having looked at the MrXC there on line, I really can't see much difference between the Sub 3 and it to honest? they do look very similar??? :?:
