1990s Steel Coppi

Hey,

Can anyone tell me a bit more about the steel coppi frames like the one in the picture.

The only things I've been able to find out so far are:

1) Coppis from the 1970s and thereabouts were sometimes a bit dodgy, mainly an attempt to cash in on the name.

2) The Coppis with the seat stays that attached well below the seat cluster
were very very nice but this way of building frames was banned by the UCI.

This doesn't really fit either category. It looks nice, but does it ride well, is it well built etc etc...

Thanks for your help,

Johnny

it's a late 90's build by an italian company that licensed the "coppi" name, they are called masciaghi

this is their current range

i have a 99 fausto coppi galaxy which was the team model for team polti, the galaxy was the sprinters bike and the k14 was the climbers frame..

the frames they produced were of very good quality, i have had no issues with mine, infact it's sat 3 metres from where i am typing, it was my main road bike for 5 years, at the moment it's stripped but it's on the list to be rebuilt soon.
