Early American Classic carbon seatpost?

Chaps -

anyone got any skinny on this nifty post? Picked it up a while ago on the bay following a tip off from an eagle-eyed RBer. Looks to me like an American Classic or other Bill Shook designed prototype in Carbon.

I'd love it to be an early carbon post from the 80's but haven't got much info. It's about 300mm long and a bit over 250g on my kitchen scales.

Looks very nice, certainly a Kingbury/AC head on it.

Could be a proto or it could be a head transplant in the same way that WTB/Cunningham, Manitou and a few others took existing heads like suntour or Ringle and transplanted them on different shafts.

Either way it's not one I've seen before and it looks cool (although without more info I'm not sure if I'd be too keen on having an unknown carbon shaft near my Harris!)

Thats a nice find.
Cant beat a bit of carbon and CNC!

Ive just picked up a couple of 'Flite' carbon posts.
They're quite short so they were probaly for the road market..

This is an Aerosports carbon seatpost, it uses an AmClassic head, yes. The company also made carbon handlebars.
I'm looking for that post in this size (27.2) since years...let me know if you like to sell it.
