Thanks to a whole bunch of guys on here... I have pretty much all the bits needed to start my first ever build. The frame was going to be polished, but I got bored. I'll get a polishing kit at some point and finish it, but I just want to ride the damned thing ;)

It's not particularly pretty, with a hotch-potch of different bits, but here's the spec (ish)

Rear Mech: Acera
Cassette: 9spd Shimano

Yeah... I kinda liked the design too.

Just installed a shiny Deore LX front mech with some gash cables I had lying about.

Hopefully the proper cables will arrive tomorrow and I can finish it.

Couldn't wait any longer, and bought a couple of brake cables from Halfords and finished it off last night.

Hopefully it will go on its maiden voyage tonight.

I wish I'd just bought the Halfords cables in the first place. Clarkes cables that seem a really decent quality, and stainless to boot. £3 for a inner and £4 for inner and outer.

I'll take some better quality pics of the finished article tonight too hopefully.
