Anyone out there got experience of the Sprengisandur. I like the look of the fact that there is nothing there but are there any better coast to coast routes in Iceland before I commit myself?

Well, it's almost a year later now, but did you allready go?

Didn't manage to go due to a nasty bout of illness which has kept me off the bike I built for the occasion. Slowly finding energy to get going again although Iceland is probably off the list for a few years.... I'm more a camel trail man now trying to keep up with the kids
