Bought from Wheelbase in Staveley many years ago but can't seem to find much info on them now (Shogun that is, not Wheelbase!) so if anyone can fill in the blanks ....

Oversized 7005 Aluminum double butted frame.
Campagnolo Mirage groupset
Kinesis 6061 Forks
Cinelli bars and stem
Selle Italia Flite titanium saddle
Look 226 pedals
Mavic rims

Still rides really well :)

Hi I,ve had a couple of Shogun MTBs and I think they were built by Merida there is a lot of Shoguns in the land of Oz but I havent seen one as nice as that.
Ooroo

Very nice looking bike - but OH, that saddle angle!

Get it flattened off and lowered and give your arms a rest. There shouldn't really be any need to have a saddle nose pointing down, it puts to much weight onto your arms.

Saddle straightened - not sure why this was at this angle, it wasn't deliberate! :)
Handlebars raised rather than seat lowered, so we'll see if that is more comfortable.
Thanks for advice!

Think the brand originally (late 80 / early 90s) had something to do with Tioga.

Later in the 90s the stuff was brought in by Caratti, think at some point they even owned the name.

More details...
Stickers say "Made in Taiwan" and "Designed in the USA" but lookin at the Shogun Oz website looks to be the same firm if the logos anything to go by anyway!

The more I look at it the better I like it. Are you riding it regularly?

It's spent the last five years under a dust sheet in the garage and has basically had a bi annual wipe down to keep it clean and fit.

I'm trying to do more road cycling these days so hoping to get some more frequent use out of it although it depends where I'm working as to whether I'll be commuting on it. I'm hoping so :)
