Besides, the bottom bracket is really original, there are no thread on BB or in frame, just 2 circlips!

Mine's a 1994 and takes a 27.2mm seatpost, and a 34.9mm 1-3/8" front derailleur.

Why do they have 1"1/8e front diameter yet?

That is a stunning bike, a real inspiration!!
I'm chasing a Merlin myself at the mo! It was a friends bike that he sold to another friends brother so have been bashing the phones to see if he still has it. Am hoping he does so I can buy it and try and get it sorted before the end of the summer. :?
