1980 Peugeot PY 10 Project

Nice project ...again. I am not very familiar with the Peugeots (or other French bikes and components) of this era and the problem is that when I encounter them on local classified sites I have difficulties telling them apart. I have a trained eye for Dutch, Japanese and Campagnolo. Of course I do know the earlier PY-10 with golden detailing - you made a replica of.
Do you have any idea how many Peugeot built each year? How was Peugeot's position in the marketplace, especially with thoroughbreds like this?
