Whats Your Best Tip Find?

Only seems to be BSOs and kiddies bikes that look brand new  in the skips round my way. I'm more likely to find something in the Irwell or the Mersey where I am.

The Kona and the Spesh are quite some finds

I hate it when people find better components at the tip than I have on my bike...  ;)

Our local tip told me they didn't sell to the public, but I found out through here that they had a snide arrangement with a local trader who was outing the stuff on ebay. They tried to sell a frame dumped by someone on here becuase it was cracked and FUBAR'd, so we had a chat and he reported them to the council and they have no arrangement anymore.

Not seen anything worth having since so have not asked again.

Carl.

huh? what's a tip? or skip? Is this a recycling center? or the municipal garbage dump? :?

Tip = Waste & Recycling centre (anything that cannot go in our bins)

Skip = large metal car sized tub, for dumping stuff in on mass fro somebody to take away

got it

In Amurika we call 'em dumpsters so instead of

"King of the Skip Monkeys"

LGF would be

"President of the Dumpter Divers"

This thread needs resurrected or at least a sticky!

I found this at the dump today. £5. Full Deore groupset.... 1989 Raleigh Appalachian. :D
100% original apart from the back tyre, although the seat is fubar.
I'm not sure what to do with it now though.... :?
Here it is just out of the van.

SWMBO just rolled her eyes up as per, and offered me a brew.
