just be careful. on butted aluminium tubes the middle is so thin you can flex it between you thumb and fore finger :shock:
on a practical note, doing bikes with top mounted routing is harder on a clamp like yours.
on a side note it wouldn't take much to rotate you clamp by 90 degrees and you'll be able to use it on the post any way. and it is after all a nicely made bit of kit
