Home made Bike repair stand

just be careful. on butted aluminium tubes the middle is so thin you can flex it between you thumb and fore finger

on a practical note, doing bikes with top mounted routing is harder on a clamp like yours.

on a side note it wouldn't take much to rotate you clamp by 90 degrees and you'll be able to use it on the post any way. and it is after all a nicely made bit of kit :D

nice idea, but i too am of the school of thought that you should exclusively clamp a bike by a consumable, ideally the seat post.

and comparing a bike frame thickness to kitkat wrappers, you might like to think twice with an ageing p7...........

weld it to a sack barrow then you have a heavy agreed, but totally mobile stand with the ability to move it at your instant need
