Bontrager Race Lite 1997

This came today :)
I´ll take it to work tomorrow and weigh it.
Think this will work nicely.
Take Care

OK,

Thanks to Hollister I´ve managed to make my own brakestuds for the Race Lite.

Thanks a lot H :)

Here´s some photos how I did it.

First you need studs with 8 mm threads as shown here.

Then you fasten them to a vice.

After fastening them you drill out the inner threads. First I used a 5,5 mm drill, then I used a 6 mm drill.

Then you fasten them with the outer threads up. These won´t go in the frame, a long bolt will. So off they go with the help of a saw.

After sawing the threads off it will look something like this.

The end result! Now you can put the brakes on if you´ve lost the original studs.
Hollister said the original studs were alu and these are steel, but I´m really pleased with the results :D

Thanx a lot :)
Really appreciated!

I´ve really tried my best in building my dreambike.
First time builder, but I took my time though ;)

looking very faaaaaaast.

I noticed earlier in the thread that you received a set of replacement decals from gil_m. Are you going to put them on? or are you thinking of getting a respray first?

Thanks again :)

I think I´ll enjoy it as it is for now, and when the time comes to make it really tidy I´ll put them on.
They´re really great stickers so I´ll respray it first before putting them on.

Gee, thanks :)
I haven´t really tested it in anger yet.
It got finished last night, and I´m not really pleased with the front mech adjustment.
When I get to my usual trails, it´ll be interesting to see the difference between the Marz and the Bonty rake on the Judy I´ve got on my privateer.

I can tell the weight diff though...
