SKYE: 30th April - 1st May ?

<Derren Brown voice> ...come to Skye Rob, come to Skye... </Derren Brown voice>

Nightfall on Marsco
Cuchuillin in sheets
This world of Maclean's words
Around us like spirits released
I came to love you
I came to drink
Though dancing in darkness
I'm cup running over and drunk

Darkest of prisons
Oldest of nights
For the dawning round Garsbheinn
In patience we wait for the light
I am a climber
I am a thief
Oh kingdom of Gabbro
Your strong chains won't hold this love

'S tu mo Leannan, Leannan o
'S tu mo Leannan, Leannan o
'S tu mo Leannan, 'S tu mo Leannan
'S tu mo Leannan, Leannan o

Speaking as the Laird of Dumfries and Galloway I can appreciate those words. :)
:D

Knocked up quick Quirang map over lunch, not that we really need it...

Drive up A855, turn left at Brogaig, park at 2nd car park. Then singletrack down to Flodigarry, and road south back to car.

2.8 miles of singletrack.

Start Elevation: 257m
Total Ascent: 110m
Total Descent: 269m
End Elevation: 97m

4 miles of road to get back to car-park.

We lose all the height in the last mile

might be me that is confused ZZ, if the quiraing is the short loop I think that is the sunday morning ride, Mr P had some plans I think.

Looking back at the thread, it looks like the Idrigill loop could be an option too, although not very positive over at Stirling Bike Club....

Looks like the route was in the Jan MBR... from the SBC forum:

Weird one. We didn't like it although the views at the end were great. We were in the same restaurant as Danny MacAskill that night and asked what the best routes were. The reply was "nothing much actually but try Sligachan!". Then a few months later the exact route we found ourselves was in MBR with him in it! Look at Kenny Wilson's book for Sligachan.

And

Idrigill Point is much better as an a' clockwise loop from Dunvegan - more committing though & needs dry weather but can be stunning. Good chance of spotting whales from the cliffs...

Possible route here: http://www.offroadadventures-online.com/rr051.html

Righto, a half day would probably go down better with boss anyway.

OK, so tentative Friday plans:

1pm: Radek arrive at Falkirk. Transfer everything over to my car. Leave Falkirk.
2.30pm-ish: Arrive Dundee. Transfer everything over to TK's Touran. Leave Dundee.

Times OK for everyone?

And some pics to whet appetites... http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/t ... op-on-skye

Sorry, had some easter brake from RB. Need to take half day of work so it'll be safer to say I'll be at your doors 2pm ZZ? Does 1 hour of delay makes a difference to you chaps?

It could obviously change but currently the forecast is favourable

Sligachan loop - I had thoughts about extending this south from Camusunary to Elgol and across eastwards to lengthen it a bit  We can see what its like when there, time constraints etc.

Quiraing - yes original plan for Sunday as its short and scenic, unless enveloped by mist and low cloud.

Idrigill and Glen Brittle routes were possible alternatives should we wnat something else. ;)
