I am embarrassed to admit it, but the best road bike I ever had was left in the back garden of a house in Haringey back in the 80s.
The hanger had broken, if it had not it would have never been left there.
I loved the bike, it was beautifully made and super light.
Now I want to track one down.
Problem is I cannot remember what it was!
All I remember is it was white, and was custom hand made for the guy I bought it from.
It was English.
Guy I bought it from was disabled in a motorbike crash, somewhere I have a letter from him and therein will be mention of the bike, as he lent the bike to me initially and then we agreed a price. Of course I may have lost that...
During my time with it, it brought all the staff of several bike stores out to look over it, it was so well put together.
I really do feel daft for forgetting what it was.
Does anyone know where I could get a list of custom frame builders in England, from the seventies/early eighties?
