hi all,
after selling my kona i came up with the idea of buying an old road bike and seen this old girl on the forum.
it was very clean to say the least apart from a bit of tarnished alloy here and there plus it was all original.
70 quid later and it was mine and with a bit of metal polish and a few cheap upgrades it was ready for the road.

what do you think?

It looks a lot better in the later condition. But is it an optical illusion that the head tube angle looks incredibly steep for such a large frame? Even the stem is sloping downwards and they are generally flat.

nope..
its the same raleigh stem but it is horizontal, however it looks slanted on the picture.
the head tube angle is the same as my 58cm record sprint.
i now have to buy a pair of wheels for it as my 18 stone beer drinking body bent the rear wheel on the way home last night.
