Is there any reason for that seat tube?

:) Don't think there is. :) Frame was especially made for a team rider so no need to adjust seatpost :? Perhaps more strength to the frame :?

Hmmm, still would think the seat post should run down below the seat tube to avoid damage to the frame and give it strength, but I guess that would be impossible in this case. I'm no engineer, but some things should not be built ;)
It's definitely different. :)

Wadsy - that KHS turned out lovely - always liked these and yours is a belter.

Going to enter my Xizang:

I didn't want to enter this last month with Bushpig's (winning!) Cunningham already in the mix, but here's my 1994 Steve Potts Steelhead.

Thread with the buy/build story and links to more pics is here: http://retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=141235

If you're not familiar with Steve's work, he was one of the founding partners in Wilderness Trail Bikes and is master framebuilder... first in steel, and now in Titanium.

A 1989 inductee at the MTB Hall of Fame: http://www.completesite.com/mbhof/page. ... emberid=55
