From the "Pace look back to their roots" thread, there's mention of a MBUK article with the Pace RC100 as one of the most influential bikes of all time.

But is it? Have things moved on since? Anyone care to suggest a Top 5 (totally arbitrary number) and reasons why?
 
Yeah, its a pretty open ended question with no real right answer.

The Pace would definitely be UK bias seeing as how most US mtbers wouldn't know what you were talking about let alone be most influential.

Stumpjumpers do get credit for bringing the sport to the masses (in the States for sure, but probably the world over). But keep in mind it was copied from what the boys in Marin were doing. So even the mighty Stumpjumper was influenced by another....


If I was going to give a nod to a bike that was truly ground breaking and inspirational; paving the way for all other modern mtbs to follow....Joe Breeze and The Breezer.

:LOL: :LOL: It crossed my mind. An it was followed by a few alloy copies. But its more famous for Brent & Roo and the company going 'pair' shaped

The team issue Klein back in 92 was :cool: :shock: out of this world Plus proved OS can be ultra light.
