Hi,
This is my first posting as I've only just discovered Retrobike.
I've enclosed a .jpeg file showing my beloved 1991 Salsa A La Carte
which I have owned since new.
It's not a truely retro build as this bike has evolved over the years through
constant use, but there are a few class bits remaining such as the Grafton
cranks ('91) and the Mavic BB (also '91 - 16 years service with only 1 set
of new bearings 18 months ago - boy were they hard to find !!! ) and Mavic rear mech - very rare.
This bike currently gets used 3 - 4 times a week on my 20 mile round trip to work.
My weekend play bike is a 1997 ( is this old enough to be retro ?? )
Santa Cruz Heckler which has also evolved over the years and is an
even greater
ride since it's had a 5th Element Air fitted - it's transformed the classic Heckler
single pivot design.
I'll post pics and a spec sheet of that soon, for anyone that's interested.

Cheers Rick

That's similar to Jez's (Jez-2-Many-Bikes) - recent BOTM (pic should be on home page). Very nice. Welcome btw.

Why do i start bouncing when I see these ones.....

A little rebuild will do miracles but the frames' stunning!

I want one, I want one, I want one.........plz plz Sinterklaas put me a A La Carte in my shoe.... :D

Rick, welcome. Very nice bike.

So good to keep getting fresh blood in the Reader's Bike's section.

As Ed says, very like Jez's by the looks of things.

Nice.

:D

Woeha, we've got Sinterklaas delivering presents at 5th of december and also at the end of December Santa will come along.

But I don't think this kind of presents will fit trough the chimney..:)

Lovely looking bike Rick, the fact that it is with the original owner and evolved makes it even better in my eyes

I like the cut of this Sinterklaas fellows jib!

Nice frame!

Now youve found this place, you could hit your frame with the retro stick!

Go on, it deserves the full treatment :D

Welcome to you both.

Cheers,Al
