Having had a go on it tonight, I have to say, it rides really nicely in a solid laid back old skool sort of way.....good enough to maybe get me looking around for something similar, like it

Very cool Park Pre. It is in amazing condition! I'm not sure about the pink cables, only because the color is not a perfect match. The blue brake pads are a nice touch.

I hope I am not overstepping onto your thread, but you may be interested to know that color scheme is based on the original Park Pre-sponsored Conejo Velo Club team colors based out of Thousand Oaks (near the Park Pre headquarters in Moorpark). I used to race for the team as a junior in the late 80s and early 90s, and was teammates with the founder's son. All of the Conejo Velo bikes were the same 80s neon pink and blue with fade & spatter pattern.

Here are pictures of my matching Park Pres. I date mine from circa 1990 (definitely had it before I left for college in 1991):

Hey Hey Hey! You contacted me via the Parkpre website about these yesterday. Cool bikes  We have a few Parkpres on here but not enough early ones in my opinion. Just read your post, I am still in contact with Ken Yamakoshi if you want his email address?

Chris

PS. Welcome to Retrobike

Thanks, Chris. I would love to have Ken's email address. You can PM me or send it to my email address (randyheyman AT sbcglobal DOT net). It would be nice to reconnect, and he might be pleased to know that I've done my very small part in keeping the Park Pre flame alive. Many thanks in advance!

-Cheers, Randy
