1990 Parkpre Catalyst

Have been in contact with Ken R Yamakoshi, son of Parkpre USA founder Cozy Yamakoshi. Asked about the frame being they same as the Hammer model. The only difference is the TIG welds on the Hammer were filled and smoothed to look like brazed joints.

Looks in amazing condition - much better than in the original photos.

This is going to be a stunner.

Slow small steps but plenty of component restoration has been going on behind the scenes. Going for the big push at the weekend to get it finished. Ignore the seatpost and saddle they are not going on the finished build.

Had a busy day. Fitted the shifters, chain, saddle, brakes and cantis. Cabled it all up and I am very pleased with it. Have yet to take it for a test ride but that can wait. The only part I am waiting for is the black seatpost. I think the pink cables work, what do you say?

First test ride today. Rides very well, more of a cruiser than a racer. The brakes work very well which is a pleasant suprise having been a v-brake user for the last 15 years. First ever ride on Biopace chainrings did not feel strange at all. Friction thumb shifters are new experience too. Will take a while to get used to but this is a rider for sure. Taken a few detail shots.

The pink cables work well, the whole build looks very fresh, lovin it. Can't believe you've not used cantis for 15 years!

First proper ride tonight. I love it! Rides very well, suprisingly nimble through the singletrack and climbs better than me. Stable at high speed and the brakes work! Excuse the crap photos.
