I have some Fred Salmon Ringle copies with holes in - not sure if they're the ones being talked about here though, but they're plain silver, they are very well made, they didn't cost much and they're the lightest skewers I've got.

So no complaints about Fred Salmon kit from me, although I will admit that his name does lack just a tiny weeny bit of the bling-style prestige of Ringle or Chris King.
