Kaya's kildale kake run "the aftermath"

A brilliant day out. Weather great, trails great, huge vistas, good company and brilliant craic. Big thanks to Vern and Paul for a smashing day out. Hope to see you on the next one next month.

kake run

cheers vern for the organising, top job!

good to see everyone and their bikes. the views form the monument are simply fantastic, well worth the climbs. also, the downhill bits were of 'kick-ass' grade even though i bottled a couple. that ride will go down as a classic for sure.

i have a few snaps and will post a link asap.

cheers.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to have a chat today Salty, you must have been avoiding the back of the pack :D

it was surprising to me being near the front all day, must be these extra days on the bike coming into force.....im fitter than last year thats for sure.

A great day out, thanks be to Vern for organising it.
I'm pleased my somersault-with-pike-and-bike-landing-on-twitching-body doesn't seem to have been captured on film!
Not sure about that Kawasaki, it's gone into the dark corner of the bikecave for future contemplation...
Hope you all got back home safely.

Do you get the feeling Rich thought one of us might nick his Kawasaki at the cake shop? He's got a lock with him! :D

By my reckoning Vern must have about 200 pics to put up, he was everywhere with his camera, including as he rode. :D

I hadn't noticed the lock at all :D

I should mention there where a few other retro bikes/bikers in the cafe.
The newish model old square tubed PACE with V-brake on, completely shunning the full set of disc tabs, of course nobody bothered to get the serial number off it.
A man on a red Specialised who was wearing one of the old PACE outer shells.

Well I've updated my first post with some of my pics and a link to some others I had taken
quick link back.. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 95#1060095

Well done Vern that was a great days riding and the weather was not bad either. It was good to meet old and new faces every meeting for me just gets better. The diamond back was spot on it just needs a few adjustments and a dam good clean I bought it of ebay a few weeks back and this was it's first outing. I would also like to thank Marc two tone for the lift cheers
